Because permalinks are the whole basis for the structure of your blog!

So what is a permalink?

A permalink or permanent link is a URL that helps to identify a page on your WordPress blog. Within WordPress you have a number of different options with regards to how you can set your permalink.

However, there are really only two options that you should consider if you want to optimize the SEO on your site.
