The Variables
Using the Pocket Business Formula you know there are only two variables that you have to keep an eye on: Audience and Offer. If either of these variables are ever zero you’re left wondering why you aren’t making any money.
The challenge is making sure that you can focus on both of them so that you end up with beautiful money charts.
The Audience
We live in the Attention Economy. If you can’t get attention then you don’t stand a chance, but with so much competition, your content has to do more than follow a template.
You need to ensure that all of your content plays a part in walking people through the Pocket Business Framework:
- Get them to notice you
- Get them to pay attention to you
- Get them to trust you
- Convert that trust into money
The best way to make this happen is by adding both Layer 1 and Layer 2 traits to your content.
The Offer
You have no choice but to create an offer that makes everyone else in your category envious. A Category Killing Offer makes it so that your audience feels that they have no choice but to buy your offer if they wish to get their Desired Outcome.
To effectively sell your offer it should contain a Big Idea that walks your audience through the two marketing gates.
- They must believe they can achieve the Desired Outcome
- They must believe that you and your Unique Mechanism are the key to achieving it
The Funnel
You need a system that continues to draw the attention of the right people and present your offer to them. But you can do this in a way that doesn’t feel like you’re constantly selling to them.
This is done most effectively when you have people moving through all 3 Distribution Channels: Active, Passive, and Nurture.
Building Your Machine in 30 Days
What do you need to do to get your machine up and running in 30 days?
- Make sure you understand the Desired Outcome of your audience
- Establish the problems preventing them from achieving the Desired Outcome
- Find your Unique Mechanism for the problems
- Pick an Active Channel (social media)
- Get your site set up (this doesn’t have to be fancy, it just needs to exist)
- Write an email sequence
- Create a Category Killing Offer
- Create content with Layer 1 & 2 traits and begin posting on your Active Channel
